Good Lessons

I got in two good lessons today. This morning I had a dressage lesson on Deke with Missy. It was a really good lesson and Deke was a good boy, but he was a little tight in his poll, so I am running him to a chiropractic veterinarian tomorrow to see what’s up.

Finny had an EXCELLENT XC lesson this afternoon with Leslie at Longwood. For his first XC school of the season, he was awesome. Didn’t look at a thing, really impressed Leslie, and saved my butt a couple of times too!!! I was so proud of him.

Thomas has really settled in. He is doing great too. He is stepping up to the plate and doing everything I ask of him and seems to be enjoying the work. He’s heading to the chiropractor tomorrow too; seems a little weak in one direction of his canter. He slipped pretty badly in the wash stall a few days back, so maybe he’s got something out too.

Finn and Thomas are preparing for their first competition of 2011 next weekend. And I’m looking forward to it too.

On the social scene, had a nice dinner out with some Ocala friends at one of our favorite places: Latinos y Mas (love their Sangria!). And Saturday night went to a bonfire at the farm with a bunch of people from Longwood, O’Connor’s and Buck’s groups. It was a cold night that evening: good night for a fire.

Fi continues to exhaust herself by day and crash all night. She’s having a great time too!
