We are very excited to have Finn ("High Finance") as part of the team. He's a handsome and talented guy and we expect great things from him in the future.

Finn is an off-the-track Thoroughbred--a Mr. Prospector great-grandkid who has been retired from racing for almost two years. He started his new career as an eventer, doing a few small schooling shows with his previous owner. She decided to sell him when she purchased another OTTB for herself. He was recommended to us by her trainer because of his athleticism, attitude, and potential. We joke about his "Attention Deficit Disorder." He doesn't seem to get nervous about much and is a brave fellow; but, boy, he sure likes to check out everything going on around him!

Since we brought him home in September, he has been doing lots of "rope work" with Melissa, finding his feet and trying to learn to stay focused. He got to go on a road trip to Jumpstart Horse Trials just to hang out and watch all the activity. And he's traveled down to Cathy Wieschhoff's place a couple of times for jumping lessons.

We are happy with his progress so far. After a bit of a rocky start in his first two cross country runs, he seems to finally understand his job (those sunken road-type complexes gave him a little trouble). But he seems to be enjoying himself now and we're excited about 2008 with him!
