Zero was a 2000 bay thoroughbred, 16.2, purchased directly off the track in the fall of 2004 for mere pennies. He was quite a character; very lovable, very talented, very opinionated; but a sweet guy to be around. Melissa and Zero worked together for a couple years, and were just beginning to compete at the Preliminary level in Ocala during the winter of 2007.

In the Spring of '07, he started some lay-off time from an apparent mild suspensory injury in his front. He was allowed quiet turnout during his lay-off, but somehow during that time, he shattered his long pastern bone in his front left! We were devastated by the loss. Melissa had lots of hopes and dreams for her future with Zero.

We miss him and his gentle whinny that we always heard when we approached his stall. But he'll always be in our hearts as part of the team. And he will continue to grace the home page of this website with his super jump!
