Melissa has had the opportunity to learn and take some lessons from wonderful instructors over the past several years and loves passing on the knowledge that she's acquired. She has been fortunate to receive instruction from eventers: Cathy Wieschhoff, Ian Stark, Jimmy Wofford, Diana Rich, Nadeem Noon, Bill Hoos, Susan Harris, Dorothy Crowell, David O'Connor, Karen O'Connor, Holly Hepp, Robin Walker, Martha Lambert, Susannah Lansdale, Clark Montgomery, Amy Tryon, and Missy Ransehousen.
She also works on a regular basis with her dressage instructor, Nancy Baker, of Wicklow Dressage.
At our new facility, Walnut Creek Stables, Melissa Miller Eventing is leasing an 8-stall barn and we are now running our own instructing and training business. Walnut Creek is a superb and well-run facility with a 300x150 outdoor jump arena, a 60mx20m outdoor dressage arena, and a 200x72 indoor. We are very excited with the possibilities for the future.
Instructing
Along with training and competing her own horses and sale horses, one of Melissa's passions is teaching. She enjoys giving lessons to riders of all ages and levels. She is available for flat/dressage lessons and jumping lessons and also takes students cross country schooling on a regular basis.
At our new facility, Melissa is now able to accept trailer-in lessons and can also offer lessons on a couple of her horses for those riders who do not have their own horses or are unable to trailer over.
Clinics
Melissa is also available to teach weekend, day-long, or half-day clinics. The clinics can offer dressage, showjumping, or cross country or any combination thereof.
Coaching
Melissa attends many horse trials and schooling shows during the competition season and is available for coaching at any of them. Please see the Competition page for the current year's planned events.
Training
Melissa has been very successful with bringing all of her horses along herself. She is committed to training each horse with their well-being in mind, taking time to establish groundwork and build a good foundation for them.
At our new facility, Melissa is able to take in horses for training--either horses that are being prepared for sale, young horses that need a start, or older horses that need some retraining or further training.
Boarding
Boarding at Walnut Creek Stables is available so that you can take advantage of what Melissa Miller Eventing has to offer. We offer very personal care to each of our students and their horses and enjoy and appreciate our "family".
