Instructing and Coaching

Melissa has always enjoyed teaching and training. She has had the opportunity herself to take lessons and participate in clinics with many wonderful instructors over the years. She loves to pass on to her clients and students all that she’s gained from her competitive experience and from these lessons. She enjoys teaching riders of all ages and levels. She is available for flat/dressage lessons, jumping lessons, and also cross country schooling. She can help you and your horse improve your scores, jump better, and meet your training and competitive goals.

Melissa currently works with Leslie Law (Olympic Gold Medalist) of Ocala, Florida, during the winters and at horse trials throughout the year. Other instructors she has worked with or has had lessons from include: Bruce Davidson Sr., David O’Connor, Ian Stark, Jimmy Wofford, Karen O’Connor, Ralph Hill, Clark Montgomery, Amy Tryon, Missy Ransenhousen, Cathy Weischhoff, Dorothy Crowell, Diana Rich, Nadeem Noon.

Melissa is available for trailer-in lessons at her facility and also provides several opportunities for cross country schooling instruction during the year at the Kentucky Horse Park, Hoosier Horse Park, Flying Cross Farm (Louisville area), and Twin Towers (Dayton area).

Melissa ocassionally has spots available in her program: you can keep your horse at her facility where you and your horse will enjoy the excellent and personalized care; you can take both flat and jumping lessons as you need, and also have the opportunity to compete at horse trials all over the eastern half of the US. Melissa Miller Eventing is based at a facility that is handy to both the Cincinnati and Dayton areas and boasts an outdoor standard dressage ring, outdoor jumping arena, and an indoor arena with superb footing.

Training for Your Horse

Whether you need your horse started in an eventing career, or need to work through training problems or difficulties, or if you have a horse that you would like to eventually sell, Melissa has had tremendous success bringing horses along and turning them into more rideable, competent, happy, and reliable mounts.
