Nikole
and DittoNikole purchased Ditto in the late summer of 2007. Ditto is a TB/paint cross (no spots!) and is a super sweet guy. Nikole and Ditto have had a great 2009 so far, winning lots of blue ribbons at local dressage schooling shows and then winning a ribbon at every horse trial they've done this year: one blue first place and one second place at Beginner Novice, and a fourth place in their first Novice--qualifying them for AECs in Beginner Novice for 2009.
Kristin
and RadarKristin and Radar started their partnership in late 2007, both young and a bit green! But they are really developing their partnership this year and have huge potential for the future. They are qualified for BN at AECs and moved up to Novice recently.
Sydney
and GimliSydney purchased Gim in August of 2008 and has developed him into a great sport horse. Gimli is an honest guy and Syd has done an awesome job with him both in his dressage and his jumping. They are qualified for AECs in BN, having placed well in both their Beginner Novice events. They also recently moved up to Novice and have a couple more events planned for 2009.
Miranda
and AussieAussie and Miranda have been "friends" for a few years now. Aussie is an unusual breed: a Nokota Horse. And he gets his name from the white spot on his side that's shaped like Australia (albeit upside-down)! Miranda has had a super 2009 so far, winning lots of ribbons at our local dressage shows.
Wesley
and ScarlettWesley lives on the other side of town from MME, but trailers over for a lesson as often as possible and Melissa enjoys coaching him at horse trials. Wes' family recently imported his new horse, Scarlett, from New Zealand. Scarlett is an awesome horse and Wes seems to fit her perfectly. They have a great future; Scarlett just needs to settle in to her new country. They've done some cross country schooling and a few lessons and hope to get in a few trials his fall.
KatieKatie is our "working student" who helps out at the barn a few times a week in exchange for lessons. Katie rides Scotch or Aussie or helps out with the sale horses--hacking or flatting them. We very much appreciate all her help and support. Katie hopes to be able to get her own horse someday soon, but right now is busy with college and college finances!
Erica
and ScotchErica started taking lessons from Melissa on a school horse we had, Pint,in the late fall of '08. This spring, Erica started a lease on our older fellow, Scotch. They have been having a great time together. Erica did her first horse trial at Penny Oaks, winning 6th place in Beginner Novice; finishing on her dressage score. And Scotch had a great time too. He just loves still being able to run XC!
