Scotch is the senior member of the MME Team. He has been an awesome partner for Melissa and a tremendous member of the team as he and Melissa worked their way up the levels together. Scotch was purchased in 2002 from Pony Club friends; he had semi-retired after successfully doing some Novice and Training events. Melissa and Scotch started in Novice and worked their way up to CCI* and Intermediate. Scotch and Melissa’s major accomplishments together include: Team Bronze at the 2005 NAYRC, Team Silver and individual eighth at the 2006 NAJYRC, 2005 Area VIII Preliminary Young Rider of the Year, 2nd in Mayfest’s 2005 T3DE, 4th in Midsouth’s long-format CCI*, and in 2006 Scotch earned the American Trakehner Association’s Preliminary Horse of the Year award.
Scotch has now become our “schoolmaster,” teaching some of Melissa’s students and continuing to enjoy running around Beginner Novice and Novice courses so others can learn the ropes.

Zero was a very special fellow who joined the team in 2005 as a OTTB bargain and was with us all too briefly. He enjoyed accompanying Melissa during her first winter at Longwood Farm in Ocala, competing and having fun there. By 2007, Melissa and Zero had worked their way up to Preliminary when Zero had a pasture accident, shattering his P1. He will always be remembered for his sweet nature.
